Day 18
The unbridled joy of little girls. This is the kind of shot I would like to get better at, as this is what I am most often taking pictures of. I'll have to work on it.

Day 17
I really took this with the G11, no fancy lenses or anything. Just standing in the front yard. I'm pretty impressed myself. It took about 10 shots messing with the settings to get it.

Day 5
I built a light box today. Clearly I need to know a lot more about my camera before I get good at this. But here you go, you may recognize Shere Khan the tiger from Jungle Book.
Day 4
I tried to take some pictures inside. One of my motivations for getting the new camera was to be able to get better pictures inside, because well, kids do stuff inside! So here is a pic from the cousin's birthday party. Not that great, I will be working on this, but I was impressed that I was able to get an in-focus shot of some quickly moving boys in low-light indoors.

Day 1
Well the first nifty thing I found out about my camera (after I figured out you could flip the screen around) is that it has "scene" settings. Different situations you might want to take pictures of including today's picture, sunset. It also has scenes for photographing kids and pets, outside, inside, underwater, aquarium, and fireworks among others. So you will be seeing these for the next few days, except for fireworks. We'll have to save that for another time. I also think we'll be revisiting Sunset the next time I see a spectacular one.

Day 0
My new camera arrived yesterday, and inspired by a friend I'm going to take one picture a day trying out the different features of my camera. Knowing my life, I probably wont upload them every day, but I am going to try. So here goes!
